Estella Flather

*     Estella Flather is a freelance artist who works in many media. She has created a number of craft designs which have appeared in magazines such as Country Handcrafts, Needlecraft for Today, Needle & Thread and Crafts. Some of the areas in which she works are leathercraft, quilting, stuffed toys, embroidery, natural dyes, spinning, tapestry and inkle weaving, illumination, and wood carving.

Estella also is involved in the art of Bonsai, miniature Japanese style trees. She has taught classes at Tarrant County College, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, has lectured at local and state Bonsai conventions and was a founder of the Fort Worth Bonsai Society. She owns and operates a Bonsai nursery called Artistic Plants in Burleson, Texas.

Estella has a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in English Literature from the University of the State of New York at Albany and a Degree of Associate in General Studies from Central Texas Junior College.     *
